Complete description

Begin in Manali with a motorcycle briefing and test ride, then head into the mountains through Jispa and Sarchu, crossing Baralacha La before the long, dramatic ride to Leh. After an acclimatization day, the expedition continues to Nubra Valley via Khardung La and finishes at Pangong Lake, one of the most spectacular high-altitude lakes in the world.

Rest and acclimatization days are built into the route, and every group activity stays optional. Designed and operated by Tour Advisor India, this is our most adventurous FOUNDING 10 journey, shared with a small group of riders who started the trip as strangers.
Itinerary
Before Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
Arrive in Delhi one day before the official start date. Airport pickup can be arranged 1-2 days before the tour, with early hotel check-in available on request. The expedition officially begins with your transfer from Delhi to Manali.
Day 1: Delhi to Manali — Welcome & Group Introduction
Transfer from Delhi to Manali, check in, and meet your fellow riders over welcome refreshments. You’ll be introduced to your ride leader, technician, and support crew, with a motorcycle and safety briefing covering the route, riding rules, and altitude considerations.
Day 2: Manali — Motorcycle Preparation & Test Ride
Receive your Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and helmet, with hands-on guidance from your ride leader and technician on controls, hill riding, and group riding formation. Take a controlled test ride around Manali before the expedition begins, with free time and a final briefing in the evening.
Day 3: Manali to Jispa — First Himalayan Riding Day
Begin the real expedition, riding through the dramatic Lahaul valley and crossing the Atal Tunnel region towards Jispa, with your support van close behind throughout. Regular regrouping and rest stops keep the pace comfortable on this roughly 140-150 km day.
Day 4: Jispa to Sarchu — High Mountain Passes
Ride deeper into the Himalayas towards Sarchu, passing Darcha, Zingzing Bar, and the Baralacha La region at around 4,890 metres. Camp under the Himalayan sky at Sarchu, with stargazing and travel stories if weather permits.
Day 5: Sarchu to Leh — The Big Himalayan Crossing
One of the most exciting riding days, covering around 250 km through Lachulung La, Nakee La, the More Plains, and Tanglang La before descending into the Indus Valley and arriving in Leh. The evening is kept free for rest after a long day in the saddle.
Day 6: Leh — Acclimatization & Rest Day
A deliberately easy day with no long ride, giving your body time to adjust to the altitude. Explore Leh at your own pace with an optional market walk, monastery visit, or café time, followed by a relaxed FOUNDING 10 evening and a route briefing for Nubra.
Day 7: Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
Ride through the high mountain roads of Khardung La into the Himalayan desert landscapes of Nubra Valley, with a comfortable pace and planned stops along the way. If conditions allow, enjoy a campfire and stargazing with the group in the evening.
Day 8: Nubra to Pangong Lake — The Epic Himalayan Ride
One of the most memorable days of the expedition, riding from Nubra’s desert valleys through remote Himalayan landscapes via the Shyok route to the shores of Pangong Lake. Check into the tented camp and take time to walk and photograph the lake before a group dinner.
Day 9: Pangong to Leh via Chang La
Wake up beside Pangong Lake for sunrise photography, then begin the return ride through the Chang La region and the Indus Valley back to Leh, where the evening is free to relax and explore the market.
Day 10: Leh — Culture, Rest & Final Ride Preparation
A relaxed final day in Leh with optional visits to Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, or a local monastery, and plenty of free time. The evening brings the FOUNDING 10 Final Riders’ Night, celebrating the expedition with dinner, stories, and shared memories.
Day 11: Leh to Delhi
Transfer to Leh Airport for your included flight to Delhi, with free time or an optional Delhi experience depending on your arrival time. Celebrate completing the Himalayan expedition together at the Happy Ending evening.
Day 12: Departure
The FOUNDING 10 Ladakh Motorcycle Expedition officially ends after breakfast. Complimentary departure assistance to the airport or railway station can be arranged according to your onward travel plans.
Day 13: Bodh Gaya Rest & Reflection Day
An intentionally slow day after several days of travel. Join an optional morning yoga or meditation session, then spend the afternoon however feels right — resting, journaling, visiting a monastery, or spending time with the group. The evening brings a final FOUNDING 10 circle to reflect on the journey.
Day 14: Gaya to Delhi & Farewell
Fly from Gaya to Delhi, with selected Delhi sightseeing arranged depending on your arrival time. The journey closes with a final FOUNDING 10 dinner, group photographs, and a farewell celebration of the friendships made along the way.
Next Day: Airport Drop
Complimentary airport drop-off can be arranged according to your flight schedule. If you’re continuing your India journey, our team can help with hotels, transport, and your next destination.
